My 2015 Resolutions

I always make New Year’s Resolutions, yet I never keep them. Ever.

Excpet one. Where I drink less soda. That was made about 10 years ago, at least. Since then, I have seldom had any soda (maybe six or seven in all). Before then, I drank it kind of regularly.

So that resolution was a success.

For the new year, I am planning on making resolutions yet again. Hopefully I can actually stick to them.

So, here goes my list of resolutions.

  • Exercise 4 to 5 days a week (Pilates, yoga, some for of cardio, whatever)
  • Cut down junk food consumption by about half
  • Eat one healthier meal a day
  • Cut down electronic use to one to two hours a day
  • Get room cleaned up, and keep it cleaned
  • Get at least a C in my classes
  • Get a job (as soon as possible), and put at least half of money earned from each paycheck in my savings account
  • Get started (and work on) book I want to have published
  • Be more conscious of where I put my possessions, so I don’t forget where they are, or lose them
  • Contact my friends in some form (email, text, call, etc.) twice a week
  • Do something once a month, that is out of my comfort zone
  • Take out no more than ten items a week from the library (I tend to take out 30 to 40 items at once, and it gets crazy, so I need to work on taking out less than that)
  • Take at least 10 pictures everyday, of something that catches my eye
  • Bake something at least twice a month

That is all I can think of at this time. Although, I think this is good enough for me. I don’t want to overdo it. Are you making any resolutions? I hope you can stick with them through the year!!! I hope I can!!!

Happy New Year to you all!

The 2014 Holidays

Wow, it’s been a long time since I last posted.

The holidays are over, except for New Year’s. I can’t believe how fast this year went by. It’s crazy.

I celebrated Christmas yesterday, at my sister’s. It was a very enjoyable day, and I got to spend time with people that I love.

For Christmas, I got several movies (The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, The Princess and the Frog, The Hobbit: an Unexpected Journey, Toy Story 1, The Fault in Our Stars, Divergent, and Brave), a few CDs (Tenore by Jonathan Antoine, 21 by Adele, and Pocketful of Sunshine by Natasha Bedingfield), a couple baking cookbooks (The Big Book of Cakes, and The Big Book of Cupcakes, both by Betty Crocker), a belt (which I really needed), and a Stay Puft Marshmallow Man bobble figurine.

The Stay Puft Marshmallow Man is my favorite Ghostbusters character, which one of my brothers knew, so I am very happy about getting the bobble.

The Catching Fire movie came with a Mockingjan pin, which is something that I have wanted as well.

I am very happy with everything that I got this year. I didn’t get everything on my list, but that is perfectly fine. I wasn’t expecting to get everything on it.

2014 was a really good year for me, and I am hoping 2015 is just as great, or better. I am hoping to be able to get a job in the new year, one that I will enjoy.

For those who celebrate Christmas, I hope that this Christmas was wonderful, and if it wasn’t, I pray that the new year goes better for you.

Happy New Year!!

Ten Year High School Reunion Weekend

This past Saturday was my ten year high school reunion.

Ten years. How is that even possible? I seriously CANNOT believe it’s been ten years already. The time just flew by so fast!

I went to the reunion with a friend of mine. It was at a restaurant called Bar Louie. I have been to the one near me, and they are really good.

I had a pretty good time. One of my classmates actually came over to me, and hugged me. I didn’t think she would do that, as we weren’t really friends in school, and didn’t hang out that much. We didn’t have many classes together, either. But, it was nice that she wanted to say hi to me, and to ask how I was doing.

I just wish I was friends with more of the people from my class. I was very shy in school, so I didn’t have a lot of friends. I also didn’t like school that much, because of my learning disability. I didn’t do well in my classes, although I did graduate on time (thank goodness!).

I decided to go to my reunion, though, because I figured it would be nice to get away from home for a few hours, and have a little fun.

There were probably about 30 to 40 others who came to the reunion, so it was a pretty good turn out (even though there were about 700 classmates in the year). I had a good time, and am so glad I went.

Book Review: Palace of Mirrors by Margaret Petterson Haddix

Well, here is my first review.

Palace of Mirrors by Margaret Petterson Haddix.

Cecilia is given to a nanny after her parents died, living in a remote village. As she grows up, she was told that she is the true princess of Suala, and she believed that she was all throughout her life. There is a “fake” princess at the castle, as a protection to Cecilia.

Her best friend is a boy named Harper, who is being given harp lessons by his mother.

At fourteen years old, Cecilia and Harper decide to go to the castle, to tell the “fake” princess, Desmia, that Cecilia is ready to take her place in the castle.

But, things don’t go as planned. Many dangers arise for the two friends, and for several others in the kingdom.

This book is recommended for girls ages 12 and up.

In my opinion, the book was pretty well written. The characters are believable for the setting and time they are in. I would definitely recommend this book to those who like princesses, and fairy tales.

Reviews

For a while now, I have been thinking of writing reviews on here, of restaurants, books, movies, music, and other things. I have decided to do that every Friday.

Others can suggest things for me to check out, and I will watch/read/listen to/visit and write about my experiences.

So, if anyone has any suggestions for things for me to check out, feel free to message me, and I’ll be happy to try them!

Dear Zachary, Zelda and Cody Williams,

I heard that you have been getting some negative comments about your father’s death. You do not deserve that.
Your father was an amazing man; loved by many. He will surely be missed by his fans, whom I can proudly say I am one.

Those that are giving you all this negativity are ignorant people, who aren’t worth your time and energy.

I know how it feels to lose a parent. My mom died almost four years ago, and I miss her very much.

Stay strong, and you will get through this. There are lots of people out there who truly cared for your father, and surely care for you as well.

Sincerely,
Diane G.
