Fill-in-the-Blank Friday

  1. Over the labor Day Weekend I am going to see a movie (ParaNorman), relax, and enjoy the weekend. I’m not sure if my dad is going to barbecue, but I am going to enjoy bbq food if he does.
  2. With all the political debates going on right now my thoughts are on other things. I am not a political person, so I don’t really care for these things. I don’t know why, but I just never get into these debates.
  3. Today was really good. I volunteered at the library (or, actually, with the library) delivering library materials to the homebound. Later, I am planning on going to see ParaNorman in theaters, and then relax the rest of the day.
  4. The best thing I cooked recently is macaroni and cheese. That is one of my absolute favorite foods, so I like to make it alot.
  5. The best movie I was this summer was The Three Stooges. I am a huge Stooges fan, so seeing the new movie was a given. It was really good, and funny.
  6. The last thing I bought was a couple notebooks and a few personal items from Walgreens.
  7. The best book I read this summer were the Leven Thumps books. I first started reading them last year, I believe, and really enjoyed them. I read all 4 this summer (the first 3 a second time and the fourth for the first time).

Dear Shyness, Please go away so I can do the things I want to do.

Dear College, I would to come back, so I can finish my degree(s). I miss going to school.

Dear Mom, I miss you so much and I wish you were still here. Life isn’t as good without you.

Dear Job Search, Please let me get a job. SOON!!! Thank you!!

Dear Summer, Stop giving us 90 plus degree days. It’s annoying. I know it’s supposed to be warm, but I hate how we are getting so many 90 degree days this summer. Please stop it!

I Got My New Cell Phone Today!!!

A few hours ago, my new phone was delivered. It is a Nokia Lumia, which is completely different from my old phone, in more ways than one. My old one was an Android LG Optimus. The features on both phones are completely different, so I have to get used to a whole new way of using a phone.

I miss my old phone, but I’m happy I have a fully functioning phone again.

With my old phone, when someone tried to call me, it would go straight to voice mail, even if it was on. Also, one of the buttons stopped working as well.

So, it’s nice to have a phone that’s actually a PHONE. Even though I do like the extra features. Yeah, so…I’m really, really happy now.

Hopefully, this new phone will last a lot longer than the other ones. I hate having a phone that quits after a few weeks of usage. This one better not do that, or I will be one VERY unhappy person. But, for the moment, I’m happy.

Well, that’s all for now. More to come later.

Getting a New Cell Phone…Yay!!!

Tomorrow my new cell phone will arrive. I can’t wait to get it. I will finally have a fully functioning phone then, which I am very happy about.

When my dad and I went to the phone store on Saturday, to get this all figured out, the sales associate who talked with us said that the phone I currently have is an early model, and that it was known to have problems like this.

I had to get new cell phones twice because I wasn’t able to recieve calls, and the home button didn’t work.

The phone I have is a T-Mobile LG Optimus (Android), and the phone I am getting is a Nokia Lumia. It is supposed to have a lot more storage space, stronger/better reception, and be easier to use than the one I have now.

I can’t wait to get it, although I’m going to miss my Android phone. I’ve gotten used to it, and love it. Until now. It’s been driving me crazy. So I want to have the new phone now, so I don’t have to miss calls again.

Well, that’s all for now. More to come later.

Extreme Couponing…I Want a Little Piece of It

Right now, I am watching reruns of the show Extreme Couponing, and it’s making me want to start. Although, I wouldn’t go to these lengths while shopping. I guess that’s why the show is called Extreme Couponing.

I absolutely love clipping coupons if there is one for something I want, that’s on sale. But, I don’t go crazy and buy a million of the same item. I’m not that crazy.

Of course, I love saving money, but I don’t need to buy a ton of things at once, and use a ton of coupons at once.

There’s always a limit on coupons anyway, so it can sometimes be frustrating to shop for stuff anyway.

But, it’s fun and interesting watching the show, to see what people would do to save as much money as possible.

Today, I have decided to look for those binder coupon sheet things, so it would be easier for me to see the coupons. I don’t know when I
would be able to get some, though. I might need to use public transportation, or ask someone to drive me, if they are at a store that isn’t close

We’ll see what happens though.

Well, that’s all for now. More to come soon.

Long to Go On a Missions Trip

Today at church, there was a man from Hands Together, a missions trip organization based in Massachusetts, who spoke to us about missions trips and our ‘mission’ in life.

He talked about his experiences helping out in Haiti. His first time, he was there for two months, had gotten sick, and had wanted to come back home. He told the bishop who was with him that, and the bishop told him that he had to write a speech for a church there, in the country’s native language, then he might go home.

So, he wrote about how everyone sins, and that people should confess their sins and be blessed by the Father and Holy Spirit. But, since the word for sin is very similar to the word for fishing (there are a lot of fishermen in Haiti, apparently), he used the wrong word in his speech (the one for fishing).

So, he was telling the congregation that everyone ‘fishes,’ and that God didn’t like ‘fishing.’ That everyone should confess to ‘fishing,’ to the bishop that was there, that they should bring ‘fish’ to him.¬†And that was what everyone did.

That got everyone at my church laughing. It brought humor to an otherwise serious subject.

Every time I hear someone talk about missions trips (going on one, wanting to go on one, etc.) it makes me want to go on one even more. I am jealous of those who get to go on one. I love helping people, and this is a good way to do that.

If I ever do get to go on mission trips, I would want to start out in the country, and work from there. The only issues I have are with money, and transportation. I don’t have a job, so I can’t pay for anything related to this. I also don’t have a license, so I can’t do any driving myself.

Which really stinks. I want to be more independent, but that can be hard sometimes, these days. Jobs aren’t easy to get. And I am really nervous about taking the driving test at the DMV. I am very self-conscious when people are watching me, for whatever reason. But I am willing to deal with that if it means I can get my license.

Well, that’s all for now. More to come later.

Olympic Fever

The Olympics are officially over, and I am really going to miss watching it. I love watching the Olympics. The camaraderie of all the nations while competing against each other. I love everything about the Olympics. The sports, the friendships, everything.

I’m always sad when it ends, and then have to wait another four years for the next one. I do watch the Winter Olympics, but I’m more into the Summer games. I can’t wait for Rio in 2016, and of course the upcoming Winter Olympics in 2014.

I wish I could be a spectator in the games. That would be so cool, and is a very big dream of mine. I’m not an athletic person, but I do love watching sports. My favorite sports are baseball and hockey. My favorite Olympic sport is equestrian.

Horses are my favorite animals, and even though I missed that sport in this year’s Olympics, I try to watch it when I can. I can’t believe the games are over already. The two weeks went by way too fast for my liking.

Did you enjoy the Olympics this year? I definitely did. It’s always fun to watch. I am so proud to be an American. The US team always does well in the games.

Well, that’s all for now. More to come later.
