Seven Day Grateful Challenge: Day 1

I got the idea for this challenge from a friend, who did this on Facebook. I decided to do this on here. What you do is list three things you are grateful for, each day forĀ seven days. So, here goes.

  1. Volunteering five days a week at the library, with some amazing people.
  2. Going to college for my baking and pastry degree
  3. People who accept me for who I am, and who want to be friends with me, without a second thought

My Resolutions

On the Girls’ Life website, they did an article on school resolutions. That inspired me to make some of my own resolutions, not just about school, but life in general. So, here goes.

  1. Become more outgoing, and try things that take me out of my comfort zone.
  2. Get all A’s and B’s in my classes
  3. Get a job (one that I will enjoy/love) by the end of 2014
  4. Get my room cleaned up by the end of September, and have the walls painted
  5. Learn to cook, and to cook healthier foods
  6. Get my driver’s license by the fall of 2015
  7. Take self-defense classes so I can take care of myself when I’m on my own
  8. Start writing book before the end of 2014
  9. Learn how to decorate cakes and cookies
  10. Practice yoga 3-5 days a week
  11. Read 1-2 books a month
  12. Take up to 20 photographs a day

This is all I can come up with at this time, but I’m sure more will come to mind in the future. What are your resolutions?

Back In The Blogosphere

Wow, it’s been almost a year since I posted something on here. I can’t believe I let it go that long. But, I’m back, ready and rearing to go.

A little over a month ago, I started volunteering at the library five days a week. Monday and Wednesday are my usual disc cleaning days (2 hours each day), Friday is my usual home delivery day (2 hours), and now, Tuesday and Thursday I volunteer in the children’s section (2 hours each day), doing whatever needs to be done.

I am really enjoying all that I am doing now, although I wish I didn’t have to get up so early on my home deliver day. I start at 9 a.m., and I am NOT a morning person. But, at least I have the rest of the day to relax and do what I want.

Tomorrow, I am going over to a friend’s house, for a “craft circle.” We’re just going to be working on projects we each have started, and eat, talk, and do whatever. I’m looking forward to that.

I am going to be going to a festival a few towns over later in the week, with a friend. I am really looking forward to that, as I have gone to it before, and had fun.

I have taken a few classes towards my degree, and did well in them. I had taken a Food Sanitation class, and an Intro to Baking/Pastry class. Both were interesting, but I liked the baking class a lot more, as it was a hands-on class.

I love hands-on classes, as I am able to focus more on the work, and it helps to pass the time. The other students in my class were very nice to me, which really helped as well.

This past fourth of July, I stayed home and relaxed. But, I was able watch some of the local high school’s fireworks show. I live close enough that I can see some of it, although buildings and trees block out probably about half of the fireworks, which stink.

At least I was able to see some if it, though.

This coming Fall, I will be taking a culinary mathematics class in school. I suck at math, so this will be a hard class for me. Although, one of my brothers is really good at math, so I will definitely be asking for his help a lot over the semester.

The class is Monday mornings from about 8:30 am to about 10 or 10:30 am. So I have to get up EARLY šŸ˜¦

I am not looking forward to that, but this is a required class, and this is the only time that really works for me, so I’ll just suck it up and deal with it.

Well, that’s pretty much it so far. More to come later!
